These General Orders are to be read at the First Meeting
following receipt before being filed for reference.
1. Having been duly elected and installed as Wyoming Department President at the 78th Department Convention in Afton, Wyoming on June 11th, 2011. I, Cheryl Sutter, do hereby assume said office. All prior appointments and General Orders are now null and void.
2. Department Officers duly elected and installed for the ensuing year are:
President: Cheryl Sutter
Sr. Vice President: Linda Parkins
Jr. Vice President: Lori Norby
Treasurer: Ruth Schaich
Secretary: Joleen King
Chaplain: Becky Darnell
Conductress: Ansje Lansing
Guard: Lo Harris
I have appointed Joleen King as Secretary, and Arlene Birkle as Chief of Staff. All other appointees and committees will be in our new Directory and on our website.
3. Installation Reports are past-due, as per Bylaw Sec. 806A, paragraph 5. All installation reports must be on file with National and Department Secretaries. If yours is not, your Auxiliary will not receive important information it needs in order to function properly.
4. All Audits shall be conducted in accordance with Bylaws Sec. 814 and 814A. Second quarter Audit covers months of April, May and June and shall be conducted during the month of July with both the outgoing and incoming Treasurer and Trustees present. A copy must be mailed to the Department Treasurer no later than July 30, 2011.
5. The Treasurer’s Bond will expire August 31, 2011. This year both the President and the Treasurer will be bonded. This will become effective with the 2011 bonds. It shall be the duty of the Trustees to see that the offices of the President and Treasurer are bonded with an indemnity company authorized by National Headquarters or the Department as surety in a sum at least double the amount of funds and value of property for which, so far as can be anticipated, the President and Treasurer may be accountable. The amount shall be approved by the body and the bond premium paid from their funds. The office of President shall hold the bond. Section 814A paragraph 11 page 84.
6. Community Service is what we do in all of our Programs, and we have a new report form that needs to be filled out with all the hours, mileage and money spent information on the bottom of the page, and turned into each respective Program Chairman. The information will be added up so it can be reported to the Comrades on the 1st of May and October.
7. District Presidents are reminded that there are new Auxiliary Inspection forms and the inspections are very important. When they are filled out, we can look for any red flags areas where the Auxiliary may need help. If any member of the Ladies Auxiliary has any questions or concerns, they will be urged to contact the Department President first, and that way National will be contacted only if it is necessary.
8. Department Web-site: Our web-site, wyoladiesauxvfw.com has a lot of information on it, and the Department Program Chairmen will be using this site to promote their programs. Any events that are coming up may be sent to karhuck@rtconnect.com to be put on the web-site. There will also be an e-mail newsletter sent out with information as it becomes available from National. When the General Orders are sent out, a newsletter will be included with it and anyone that would like information included in this mailing may sent it to 307-437-6355 or joleen82931@hotmail.com .
9. President’s Special Project: “VETERAN’S AIDE” We have Veterans from all over that have many diverse needs, and we need to have help for them when they contact us. We have two Wonderful VA Hospitals in Cheyenne, and Sheridan and the home in Buffalo that need things all the time for our Veterans. We need to be there for them just like they were there for us when we needed them.
10. National Convention in San Antonio Texas is just around the corner on August 27th- September 1, 2011, so send your $15.00 advance registration in before August 15, 2011! Whether you attend or not, you will receive your “Step Up-Leave No Veteran Behind” Program book. Registration goes up to $20.00 at the Convention.
11. School of Instruction will be held along with the seven District Meetings in September and October, and you are encouraged to attend them.
